Bio
Korrin’s
lifelong career as an artist began as soon as she could hold a
pencil, and she doesn’t remember ever wanting to be anything
else. Her spirit of creativity, independence, and
perfectionism emerged as early as preschool and kindergarten.
Rather than cutting along the center of the lines, she
insisted on precisely cutting the black line off of shapes,
because she didn’t like it. Another teacher made her re-do a
project several times after she’d cut a circle entirely too
small. She’d continued to trim the circle until it was
perfectly round. “I’ve gotten better with scissors, but I
still have a tendency to create my own rules.”
Coming from
a family of educators and creative personalities, she
unsurprisingly became an art teacher after graduating from the
University of Akron in 2005, with a B.A. in Art Education.
She currently teaches high school art classes and private
lessons in Ohio, also helping to create sets for the various
music and drama productions within her school district. But
Korrin also takes on numerous free-lance projects.
Her graphic
design work appears on the websites, album covers, book
covers, tshirts and more for nationally-recognized artists and
businesses. She even co-edited T.M. Göttl’s poetry
collection, Stretching the Window.
The work
never ends. Korrin constantly finds herself working on
various photography assignments, flyers, posters, websites,
album art, or just giving friends a kick-start to get going on
their own projects.
Reviews
"Korrin has made an awesome website for me.
It has far succeeded my wildest expectations, and has lived up
to high acclaim from the industry." -Zach
"Korrin was
a pleasure to work with. Creative, great attention to detail,
and open to suggestions. She made my ideas come to life and
then took them to another level with her creativity and energy
for the project. After reviewing the job with several other
programmers, Korrin's attitude and ability were head and
shoulders above the rest. She exceeded my greatest
expectations." -Rick K. - Owner & Founder -

Despite old adages, people still judge books
by their covers. Which is why I couldn't have been
happier with the design work by Korrin Bonnigson for the
cover of my first book. The artistic quality of her
graphic design created exactly the effect I needed, and
Korrin kept me informed at each step along the creative
process, adapting to my pickiest requests. She even
continued to make alterations literally right up until
deadline, just to make sure that the final project was
perfect for me before going to print. -T.M. Göttl

Korrin Facts:
Korrin has been a practicing artist since
she was able to hold a pencil. A perfectionist at heart,
her preschool teacher made her start over several times on a
project because her circle was cut too small due to constant
trimming of the uneven edges, but it was a perfect circle.
She also got yelled at by her kindergarten teacher for not
cutting in the center of the black line. She didn't like
the line, so she cut it off. She has gotten better with
scissors, but still has an tendency to create her own rules.
Korrin has a slight obsession with plaid.
Likely due to the years spent in a Catholic elementary school
in Sandusky, Ohio.
Being vegan and living in small town Ohio,
Korrin has become a makeshift vegan chef. She has grown
to really enjoy cooking, and refuses to do her dishes without
a reason to dirty them in order to have to wash them again.
Her favorite foods being somewhere between TVP Tacos, Seitan
Piccata and Tofu Florentine, for now. (T.M. Göttl would
also like to point out Korrin's extreme love for garlic.)
Korrin is also a teacher. Quoting one
of her students: "She's awesome, be jealous."
Korrin stopped watching tv and reading
magazines in Junior High. Partially due to a lucrative
career at a local amusement park, but mainly due to the fact
that she did not want to be fed images of so called
'perfection' that would make her feel the need to be someone
that she is not. Now she edits photos and models part
time.
Korrin's mother is into crafts and design,
and her father is in education.
Her brother is a cage fighter.
Korrin was named after "Corey" an elusive
character from a song by Harry Chapin.
Korrin's mother didn't name her "Korry"
because she thought she would get made fun of. So
Korrin's parents named her Korrin and called her Korry.
You will hear most family members, anyone from Korrin's
childhood, and anyone who has trouble pronouncing "Korrin"
correctly call her Korry. She will respond to both,
whether you're talking to her or not.
